Tunes on Tuesday: Woman On The Moon

Why this tune?

In February, I received a Facebook message from Dee Osinski, a songwriter and musician based in St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. She had heard a livestream I performed in from the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts on the island, and asked if I could add chords to her new song “Woman On The Moon” to give it the “smooth jazz feel” she was looking for.

I created a harmonic setting for her musical fantasy about space, memories, and climate change, and contributed a piano track for the final recording, a multi-location collaboration with engineer Steve Treado from State College, PA, drummer Steve Synder, and guitarist Craig Gildner, also from Washington, DC.

The song is still in production – stay tuned for more information about the release.
