Tunes on Tuesday: Appetite

Why this tune?

This week’s tune marks Bastille Day, the French national holiday, with a silly song about how we rely on a French phrase to start our meals in the USA. I responded to a songwriting prompt to use “foreign words” and took this idea to an absurd extreme. This was the second of five songs I posted FAWM during their nine-day summer song sprint.

I think this would work well in a cabaret or musical theater revue. Please let me know if you’d like to add it to your repertoire.

Speaking of theater, the District Fringe festival is currently on in Washington, DC (runs July 10-26). I was delighted to present a revue at last year’s inaugural festival. I encourage you to check out this year’s offerings if you’re in the DC area.
