Tunes on Tuesday: The Last Banana

Why this tune?

I wrote “The Last Banana” a couple of years ago, and have been performing it at live shows and open mics for about a year. I have shared it with appreciative
audiences in DC, St Croix, and most recently at the Cast Party open mic in New York City.

I’ve been working on the performance along the way, trying to get the most out of a silly tune about a breakfast faux pas. I wanted to share the current state of that
performance this week.

I don’t plan right now to record “Banana” in the studio. I think it’s best as a live performance piece, a fun way to close out a set. I am planning to release a new studio album, a ten-song collection I’m recording in Los Angeles later this year. More news on that project coming soon.
