Tunes on Tuesday: Harmony

Why this tune?

This week’s song is one of ten originals I chose to record in October for my next album. I’m traveling to Los Angeles for the sessions, working there with an experienced producer and an array of talented LA-area musicians, including some of my favorite singers. I’m planning to sing two songs on the album, not including this one.

I wrote the first version of “Harmony” at the end of February Album Writing Month (FAWM) in 2025. I took inspiration from a song prompt “Harmony” and quickly came up with a traditional 32-bar AABA song. I borrowed the opening chords from the standard “We Got a World That Swings.” Since then I added a short introductory verse to set up the story, keeping with the tradition of this song style.
