Why this tune?
Tunes on Tuesday posts on Wednesday this week to celebrate the new year 2025. The start of the year is also the start of the January Song a Day Challenge organized by Songwriting For Music Educators, Kat Reinhert and Sarah Gulish’s initiative to help music teachers learn the craft of songwriting. I participated in the challenge last year and came away with more than 10 quality songs that I continued to “polish” through the year. I’m hoping for a similarly productive effort this year.
My first song of the year is “Onward,” a (mostly) positive call to keep moving forward even if the road ahead is not so clear. I finished one verse and chorus and may go back to it later to complete the song.
