Why this tune?
For World Press Freedom Day 2022 (May 3), I’m releasing the original recording of “Ain’t It The Truth” featuring Carolyn Malachi singing my song about the challenge of false information and the search for truth. All income from the track will be divided among two fine organizations working to support independent journalists and independent news outlets.
The International Women’s Media Foundation (www.iwmf.org) “is the only NGO that offers safety training, reporting trips, and byline opportunities, all tailored to women journalists — both established, and up-and-coming.” Their Online Violence Response Hub is a resource center where women journalists can come to find the latest information on online abuse, and focus on their safety.
The International Center for Journalists (www.icfj.org) “empowers an unparalleled global network of journalists to produce news reports that lead to better governments, stronger economies, more vibrant societies and healthier lives.” Their Elevate news business hub helps small and medium-sized news organizations become financially viable and serve their communities well into the future.
