Tunes on Tuesday: When The Morning Comes (lyrics video)

Why this tune?

“When The Morning Comes” encourages us to welcome the chance for a new start on a new day. I wrote it after a period of writer’s block, taking inspiration from the early hour. You can hear it on my 2018 album “Making Up For Lost Time,” featuring Aaron Myers’ vocals and a brilliant alto sax solo from Herb Scott.

I think this song written in 2016 has a deeper resonance in 2021, as we start to see the light at the end of the COVID tunnel. I hope the new lyrics video for the song encourages you to look ahead to that brighter post-COVID future.

Thanks to Aaron Myers for suggesting that I combine this song with the images of the Caribbean sunrises we were able to enjoy recently. I think the sunrises at the start of the video are a great visual match for the music, especially the lovely rubato opening chorus.
