Tunes on Tuesday: Nothing To Say

Why this tune?

This week’s tune comes from another rehearsal,
for a show on June 26, 2025 at the Lamond-Riggs
public library in Washington, DC. Vicki Golding, Percy White and I are playing
”Nothing To Say,” which I wrote first in 2021 as a
way out of writer’s block. I wrote one verse then, turning a story about having
nothing to write about into a sweet love song. The song with one verse seemed incomplete, so I
invited Vicki to add a second verse to expand
the story. She did a lovely job.

Vicki and I performed the song once a few years ago
at an Art All Night event in DC. I’m looking forward
to playing it again this week with this band. Kelton Norris will join Vicki, Percy and me
on drums (I recorded the rehearsal mostly
for his benefit). The set list includes my tune “Park Road Serenade”
that Vicki also added lyrics to after the song was written.

Apologies for the sound quality on the video!
