Why this tune?
I wrote this week’s tune during this year’s 50/90 challenge at fawm.com, an opportunity during the summer to gather virtually with a global community of songwriters to create, collaborate and share. The song prompt “sage” led to this musing about the challenges of finding reliable information when so many sources and people are competing for our time and minds. It’s a reflective song, fitting this reflective period between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
The song covers a similar theme as “Ain’t It the Truth” from a few years ago, which featured Carolyn Malachi singing my lyrics about the need to pursue the truth in a world where it faces so many challenges.
For those who are observing, g’mar hatima tova (גמר חתימה טובה) and have an easy fast, and for all of us, best wishes for a safe, sane, and healthy year.
