Tunes on Tuesday: Opposites

Why this tune?

I’m excited to announce that I’m presenting my own show at Blues Alley in Washington, DC
on August 26! I’m assembling a program of my songs, old and new, and hired some of my favorite musicians to play and sing them.

“Opposites” will be on the program. I wrote it during the song-a-day challenge in January
and am polishing it for the show. It’s more pop than I usually write, a simple song about a couple staying together for the long term. It’s not the only song on that subject you’ll hear in the show.

It’ll also sound much better with the trio and my friend Barbara Papendorp singing it. She’ll be joined by Tony Gudell and Aaron Myers singing tunes, supported by me, Percy White (bass) and Tyler Leak (drums).

I’m excited about presenting this collection of tunes, some of which, like this one, we will play in public for the first time.

If you’re in the DC area, please join us! Tickets at bluesalley.com
