Tunes on Tuesday: Think Spring

Why this tune?

Tunes on Tuesday comes out on Wednesday this week with “Think Spring,” which I wrote in January this year, when we were waiting impatiently for warmer days to come. It’s still somewhat relevant here in DC, where the weather hasn’t yet received the news about the change of season.

When I wrote it I had “You Must Believe In Spring” in the back of my mind, but I’m not comparing my tune to that masterpiece. It’s worth your time to listen to Tony Bennett
and Bill Evans performing Michel Legrand’s music and Alan & Marilyn Bergman’s lyrics.

But I digress… “Think Spring” is a light seasonal jazz song has a place in the catalog
alongside “An August Day In April” and “Snow Day.” I invited Barbara Papendorp over to
record this demo. We’re already adding the song to our winter playlists.

I’m hoping it will warm up here soon so we can put the song away until next winter.
