Why this tune?
This week’s tune is another song I started in January and finally got around to polishing into a more complete form. The idea for this one, like so many others, came from a conversation with my wife. What she said was “I’ll be a grown-up on Tuesday,” which is a great prompt for a song, but not the one that came out. The song I wrote is about the constant struggle to deal with habits that may not seem to be “grown up.” I think it can resonate with many of us regardless of age.
That’s how it goes sometimes. I find that a song can take you to where it wants to go once you start working on it.
