Tunes on Tuesday: The Last Banana

Why this tune?

This week’s tune is another work from my January song-a-day challenge. It’s another example of a song inspired by everyday life. In this case it was breakfast, when I neglected to share the last banana in the house with my wife. My apology took the form of a tango that I recorded later that morning. It’s still a work in progress, and needs at least one more verse to expand on the story. I’ll of course share the expanded banana song when it’s complete.

I’m starting to plan a show featuring a collection of my songs. I can definitely see this one on the program, as part of a theme about the joys and challenges of married life. It might pair well with “I Love You, Shut Up” for example.

I’m sure there are plenty of songs out there that were inspired by mundane everyday events. Can you think of some?
