Why this tune?
We celebrate Thanksgiving in the US this Thursday, so I’m marking the day with my song for the season, which I wrote in 2011. The version you’re hearing in the video is the 2016 recording with Aaron Myers, which you can find on your favorite streaming services and YouTube.
I’m thankful for another opportunity to perform it this year with Vicki Golding and the 257th Army Band, who included my tune in their Dec. 11 holiday concert in Washington, DC.
I dedicated the song to my late uncle Rob, who was always more interested in the people
around the table than the food on it, and was always happy for the opportunities we had for our small family to get together. This year I’m keeping in my thoughts all those who lost family members or who aren’t able to celebrate with family and friends.
