Why this tune?
Over the past few years, I’ve heard plenty of things on the news that made me angry. In two cases, I turned that indignation into inspiration and channeled that feeling into a song.
The first was “Alternative Facts”, which I recorded on my album Making Up For Lost Time in 2018. The second was “Ain’t It The Truth,” which I wrote that year after hearing a political adviser on TV say that “Truth isn’t truth”
In both cases, I have been fortunate to work with superb artists who turn these songs into powerful musical statements. For “Ain’t It The Truth,” I collaborated with Carolyn Malachi to create the music you can hear on October 29. Here’s a preview of the single, featuring her voice and production magic.
