Here’s an update on my July performances. I’ll be back at the Black Fox Lounge on Friday, July 6 for my regular first Friday musical adventure with Aaron Myers and the Black Fox Ensemble, featuring yours truly on the piano, Percy White on bass, and Will Stephens at the drums. The show starts around 9:30 pm, and as always there’s no cover charge for the music.
Aaron and the band will be performing again on July 20, but I’ll be out of town for that third Friday event. If you’re in town, however, please stop by and have a drink!
On July 8, I’ll be taking my pace at the piano as part of the regular second Sunday house band at the DC Jazz Jam, 6:30-9:30 pm at the Dahlak Restaurant, 1771 U St. NW (corner of 18th St) in Washington, DC. The jam has become something of a DC institution, and attracts a talented group of guest instrumentalists and singers every week. It’s a pleasant way to spend a Sunday evening with good music and tasty Eritrean food.
